John DHobkinson has degrees in the fields of History and Biochemistry and he is apublished author.
The topic that he is going to talk aboutis the scientific principle called the Technological Singularity and also knownas the Vinge Singularity after the physicist and writer -- Verner Vinge.Singularitarians say that we simply can’t imagine what such a future would belike. It’s hard to flaw that logic. Imagine, in a world where humanintelligence is near the bottom of the ladder, what the world would look likeeven a short decade later. The short answer is: you can’t! The point is that asmore intelligent beings they’ll be capable of not just imagining,but creating things we can’t even dream about. At what point inthe future will our development of technology make mankind indistinguishable tohumans of the past?
