Professor Wu Gefei

Background

Professor Wu Gefei got a MA from Nanjing Normal University, and a PHD from Suzhou University. He is now one of the Research fellows in China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), Director of Institute for Comparative and Foreign Studies, Vice Dean and Professor of School of Foreign Studies of CUMT, supervisor for MA program specializing in British & American literature, as well as Chinese & Western comparative literary studies. He was an academic visitor to the University of Cambridge and Birmingham University. He is also one of the directors of Foreign Literature Association and Comparative Literature Association of Jiangsu Province, as well as a member of Comparative Literature Association of China, Comparative Literature Teaching Association of China and British Comparative Literature Association. So far he has had more than 60 publications including academic papers, articles and books concerning foreign literature and comparative literary and cultural studies, as well as English pedagogy in the Chinese context. His current research interests are literary theory and criticism, Marxist literary and cultural criticism, contemporary Chinese literature and Sino-foreign literary relationship.
